Why November Is One of the Best Months to Visit Disney World

November is the month Central Florida locals quietly wait for. The heat finally breaks, hurricane season winds down on November 30, and Walt Disney World starts layering its holiday season on top of the last weeks of fall. If you have some flexibility, it is one of the most rewarding times of year to visit.

The weather finally cooperates

Orlando in November usually brings highs in the upper 70s and evenings that cool to around 60. That means long park days without the midday wipeout of summer, and comfortable nights for parades and fireworks. Pack a light jacket for after dark, especially for evening parties.

Two seasons in one trip

Early November is a rare overlap. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs through November 21, 2026, while the holiday season is already starting around it:

  • Disney's Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios begins November 7, with November nights on the 7th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd and 28th.
  • Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom begins November 8. November party nights are the 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, 27th and 29th. Parties start at 7 pm, and party guests can enter Magic Kingdom from 4 pm.
  • The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays opens November 27 and runs through December 30.

Both evening parties are separately ticketed events, so check prices and availability with Disney before you plan around a specific night.

Plan around the busy weeks

Thanksgiving falls on November 26, 2026, and the week around it is one of the busiest of the fall. Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11) can also bring a bump. If your dates are flexible, the stretch between those two holidays tends to be the sweet spot: holiday decorations are up, the weather is pleasant and the parks are calmer than Thanksgiving week.

A few habits help on any November day:

  • Arrive at the first park early and save your break for the afternoon.
  • On party nights, Magic Kingdom can close early for regular guests. Check the park hours for your date before you plan your evening.
  • Make dining reservations as early as you can for Thanksgiving week.

Getting there without the stress

Most visitors fly into Orlando International (MCO), which is roughly 20 to 25 miles from the Disney resort area. Tampa (TPA) and Orlando Sanford (SFB) are farther out but sometimes cheaper to fly into. Holiday travel weeks bring long rideshare lines and surge pricing at the airport, which is the worst way to start a vacation.

A private car changes that. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you on arrival and takes your family and luggage straight to your resort. With Wheeliable Transport, an MCO to Disney transfer is about $75 with our published fares, and you see the price before you book. It works just as well for the trips in between:

  • Late nights after a party. Book your pickup ahead so you are not waiting with tired kids at 11 pm.
  • Dinner off property. Disney Springs, International Drive or a Thanksgiving reservation across town.
  • Resort to resort. Splitting your stay between Disney and Universal, or heading to the coast for a day.
  • Cruise add-ons. Port Canaveral is about an hour from the parks if you are pairing Disney with a cruise.

The short version

Come in early to mid November for the best mix of weather, festivals and crowds. Lock in your party tickets and dinners early, give Thanksgiving week extra planning, and get your rides sorted before you land. Then enjoy one of the best months of the year in Central Florida.
